There Are Many Ways to Care. Here’s Ours.
Called to share their blessings, Frank Alesci, an immigrant grocer, and a group of like-minded friends opened their hearts to those in need.
In 1965, they founded the St. Francis Foundation. Now a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the organization established a community of care for low-income older adults. Central to their vision, the Foundation constructed Villa Serena, a 242-apartment senior living residence that offers safe housing, transportation, as well as additional supportive services.
A lasting legacy
Today, family and friends carry their faithfulness forward through funding and volunteer efforts that enable aging adults to live each day with dignity, purpose and connection.
